More than 150 of the coast's most prominent business people converged on the Sunshine Coast Functions Centre in Caloundra on Friday 11 July, 2008 for a celebaratory lunch to mark the 10th birthday milestone of Wishlist.
Established by the State Government ten years ago, the SCHF was set up as a community driven charity organisation to support and further enhance the existing Sunshine Coast health services.
Chairman of the Board since its inception, Mr Mike Kelly, said the celebration was not simply about the passing of time, “this celebration is about the unbelievable track record of Wishlist's achievements and the outstanding community partnerships that have made it all possible,” he said.
“Wishlist has achieved some huge milestones over the past ten years, a major one being the fundraising and building of the $1.4 million Sunshine Coast Cancer Centre, which is attached to the Nambour Hospital,” Mr Kelly said.
“This project, along with all of our work would not be possible without the generous support from our partners and the community.
“We’re excited about using our celebratory lunch to thank you all and to now focus on the future and the big challenges we must meet as a community over the next ten years to ensure our health systems continues to improve.”
